Retrofit and Refurbishment @ The London Build Show
The London Build show is one of the UK’s premium venues for the growing number of suppliers in the retrofit, refurbishment and construction services sector.
Approaching the stands with an open mind, you can get a sense of the possible.
Buildings that monitor themselves, gushing leaks that disappear in a blink, for starters. Hard to reach renovations operated on, better than key hole surgery and fire proof solutions that make new fire regulations achievable, and life saving.
Our show involved a two day, gentle stroll round to meet stand owners.
The mood was optimistic.
Highlights included a hemp based insulation product being mass manufactured for commercial and social housing, that was carbon negative.
A Norwegian company bringing Scandi know how to the heat pump sector (I mean, if they can heat themselves in Norway doing it, they’ll work here right!).
An Australian company helping embodied carbon stay embodied with their slab refurbishment tech.
The stand out surprise, was company who are dealing first hand with stabilising properties ravaged by the RAAC concrete crisis.
If I hadn’t had to pinch myself about seeing a Chuckle Brother, things got super interesting.
The experienced construction journalist (35 years and counting) Mark Anthony, founder and editor of DemolitionNews.com and diggersanddozers.com was able to give us an interview.
Which led to another high profile catch. Neil Edwards, the director at the Builders Conference gave us some time to explain how he saw trends developing in the next months and a unique opportunity for the Refurb and Refit sectors.
The show was not only a great success for the stands and exhibitors, the show Event Director Selena Moseley said they were going to expand next year to meet demand;
"We are so elated by the success of this year’s London Build. We’ve seen record attendance and exhibitors who have already rebooked for 2024! We’re excited to announce the growth of the 2024 edition, with London Build taking over both the Grand and National Halls at Olympia London.
Also new for 2024, the show is co-hosted with the UK Fire Safety & Security Expo!
Watch this space!"
With almost 70% of event space booked up already, it might be time to get hold of Selena and her team and get involved for the next iteration of this great show.
